Enable, disable, or change a mobile broadband PIN
To enable, disable, or change the PIN for a mobile broadband

To enable a mobile broadband PIN

Click to open Connect to a Network.

Right-click the mobile broadband network, click Properties, and then click the Security tab.

Click Enable PIN, type the PIN, and then click OK.

Entering multiple incorrect PINs can result in your account being blocked until you get a PIN unblock key (PUK) from your mobile operator. If you are connected at the time, your existing connection will be ended if your account is blocked.

If the device doesn't support using a PIN, the Security tab won't be available. If the PIN is currently enabled, the Enable PIN button won't be available.

To disable a mobile broadband PIN

Click to open Connect to a Network.

Right-click the mobile broadband network, click Properties, and then click the Security tab.

Click Disable PIN, type the PIN, and then click OK.

Click to open Connect to a Network.

Right-click the mobile broadband network, click Properties, and then click the Security tab.

Click Change PIN, type the current PIN and the new PIN, type the new PIN again for verification, and then click OK.

If the device doesn't support using a PIN, the Security tab won't be available. If the PIN is currently disabled, the Change PIN button won't be available. You must first enable the PIN before you can change it.
